I: INVESTIGATORS... Shelby Elliot has accepted the invitation to be baptized on August 16th! R: REVELATION... Put your shoulder to the wheel because there is work to be done.
A: The AREA? Tis wonderful!!! I feel so blessed to be here.
C: I love my COMPANION! Sister Bradshaw is an amazing example, trainer, and missionary.

So this week... :D :D
What a fantastic week! Like I mentioned above, Shelby Elliot (19) is going to be baptized soon! We are so excited for her. This past week we were teaching her about the Plan of Salvation, and we ended with the story about Christ's own baptism ["Follow thou me" -2 Nephi 31:10].We invited her to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized; by one holding The Priesthood Authority. Almost immediately her eyes filled up with tears as she shook her head and said, "Yes. Yes!" The spirit was SO strong, and I swear if we all stretched out our hands, we could have touched it.
Angie (40's): We taught her about the Commandments this week, and her daughter, Ali, sat in on the lesson. Angie has almost read all of 1st Nephi! She is progressing so well, and this Wednesday, we are giving her a tour of the church building (showing her the Chapel, the pictures of Christ, Primary room, Relief Society room, etc.) Our plan is to end by taking her to see the font! I am so stoked to take her through the building :) It should be good, let's hope. I will definitely give you more details later of how it all goes!
Little Jack Edwards (8) from our Platte City Family Ward had his baptism this last Saturday, and we invited Larissa Smith [our new investigator] to come (12). And we asked her what she thought, and she simply stated, "It was cool and I asked my mom if I could be baptized, and she said yes, which I knew she would." After which, she walked away & proceeded to stroll right down the hallway. Sister Bradshaw & I stood there dumbfounded looking at each other in half excitement, half shocked faces as we said, "Larissa! Wait come back! Are you serious?" She grinned, "Yep!" as she gave us huge bear hugs.Wow! What an amazing little girl, she is an angel sent straight from heaven. We taught her the Plan of Salvation last week, and she somehow already knew almost every single point of the lesson even before we explained it her. She knew the whole thing well enough to reteach it to her grandmother!
The Johnson's (Jeri [member] and De Verne aka Vern [investigator]): I love them so much! I call them my adopted Grams and Gramps. There's never a dull moment at the Johnson's! They told me that I could move back and live with them after I get home from my mission. I said, "Okay! As long as I can bring my husband, and you know, my twelve-ish kids!!!" (Vern loves children, but the noise gives him anxiety, which I think is too hilarious!) Anyway, as his face fills with terror, Sister Johnson goes, "Oh sounds perfect! Old Verny over here will just have to deal with it!" haha They are too cute!
A few Sunday's ago, I was pondering about my own baptism so many years ago. The thing that I seemed to remember the most was the spirit that I felt after I came up out of the water, and I said to myself, 'Oh how I wish I could feel and experience that again.' As soon as I thought this, I looked up to see the Sacrament tray being passed my way. Then it dawned on me, I can feel that way again. In fact, we all can, every week! Partaking of the bread and water each Sunday is just like a mini baptism--it can renew those covenants and promises we made at baptism, if we have repented and are worthy each week. When the tray got to me and I partook of the bread (which represents the atoning flesh of our Savior, Jesus Christ) my heart filled with instant peace. I felt clean.
"I love to look for rainbows whenever there is rain. And ponder on the beauty of the earth made clean again.I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain.I want to be the best I can to live with God again."
The spirit is real! God loves us. We are never alone.I love you all! Have a wonderful week.
Much love, Sister Timothy aka "Lil' Timmy"
